Bromley Council sets term dates for the area’s maintained schools, published via its official term dates page. Bromley is the largest London borough by area, and most of it was historically part of Kent until the borough was created in 1965 from Bromley, Beckenham, Orpington, Penge and part of Chislehurst and Sidcup. Department for Education data shows Bromley has one of the highest academy conversion rates in London, at around 97% overall, with primary schools converting at an even higher rate than secondaries, an unusual pattern compared with most other boroughs on this site. As with most local authorities, the small number of remaining maintained schools follow these dates; academies set their own calendar, so it’s worth checking with your child’s school directly. See our guide to the hidden maths behind the school calendar for more on how term lengths are balanced.
